The Compass is a new and continually growing published newspaper currently residing in St Joseph, Mo. I started thinking about publishing a paper about a year ago when visiting my folks for Christmas. Most of my family was present for the affair. Aside from enjoying everyone's company, my family happens to be riddled with artists and musicians.
After much eating, we gathered into the small living room and each guitarist had a chance to "jam". The music that eminated from that small spot was wonderful and I wished others could have heard their talents. So much so, that I recorded some of the stuff onto a lap top.
That wasn't enough. I started thinking that we couldn't possibly be the only family that enjoyed such events. I asked around, mentioned my thoughts to several people and came up with the idea to not only publish their personal stories in print, but online as well. A paper that will allow the readers to get to know the artists on a more personal level. Almost like meeting them in person.
The web version will offer viewers to connect. I envision The Compass online to be a central hub for artists and musicians to meet. I will be posting artists work and musicians snippets of their talents. Need a specific style of art or a style of music? The Compass will provide that service. The Compass will link its readers together in this crazy world called the Internet.
The Compass will take the unknown Artists and Musicians to a whole new Direction!
